Wigan Athletic - Bruce Wants to Keep Top Players

Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce has come out and said that he wants to not only keep his star players at the club but he wants to add to the squad and build around them.

Bruce though is realistic enough to know that the pull of some clubs, the big ones, could be too much to resist for some though he has void to not let anyone go on the cheap, Bruce told reporters:

'We don't want to lose anyone but I am mindful the big clubs are out there.

'It just shows you how far this club has come that the giants of the world are looking at our players.

'I want to keep hold of them and add to the squad we have got.'

Wigan 1-2 Bradford Match Report

Latics dropped to a deserved 1-2 defeat at the hands of Bradford, our first loss at home in the league since March. It was an off-day, defence looked shaky from the off and once Nick Powell went off injured, we never really threatened to score. We are back at the DW on Tuesday against Doncaster Rovers, an opportunity to get back on track.

Paul Cook named an unchanged side from our last league game, with Michael Jacobs returning to the starting line-up.
