Wigan Athletic - Mike Dean at the JJB Boxing Day
Wigan Athletic Vs Newcastle United will be refereed by Mike Dean from the Wirral
Dean started refereeing back in 1985 to try and lose a bit of weight and get himself fit and by 1998 he was a Football League referee, it took till 2000 before he was promoted to the Premier League.
So far this season Dean has took charge of 15 Premier League matches, issuing 57 yellow cards and 5 reds, it will be his first Latics game though he has already refereed Newcastle in their 2-1 win over West Brom, booking 4 West Brom players and none from Newcastle.
