Kinnear Underestimating the Latics?

Newcastle United manager Joe Kinnear appears to be underestimating the Latics and it sounds like he thinks that his team only need to turn up to get the three points

Following a fortunate run of games where they have managed to pick up a few points Kinnear is suddenly looking to European qualification, Joe you are a barmpot manager of an average side, come in to town with that attitude and your side will get a spanking.

Kinnears optimism at the chance of gaining points at the JJB smacks of arrogance and if he thinks that the Latics will simply role over then he is in for a rude awkening, Kinnear told the press:

"We have to remain undefeated, that is what I`ll be telling the players"

"It`s important to keep this run going because while that is happening we are picking up points."

"We have got ourselves into a great position whereby we are now just four or five points from Europe."

"But we are also four or five points from the relegation zone still so that is why we need to keep the run going."

"Wigan will be a very tough game but it`s one we will be looking to win."

"They, like Spurs were, are on the same amount of points so that makes it doubly important to not get beat."

"After that we`ve got Liverpool when, if we beat Wigan, the place will be bouncing."

"But it`s one game at a time and I`m very confident we`ll get something on Boxing Day at Wigan."

Underestimate us at your peril and you will get a good tonking Joe
