The Ghost of Christmas Past - Dowd at the Reebok

Phil Dowd will officiate tomorrows game between Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic at the Reebok Stadium giving all Latics fans a sleepless night as they remember Dowds antics from past matches involving the Latics.

Dowd refereed the Latics West Brom match at the JJB earlier this season and that was the first time he had officiated a Latics game since the infamous Emirates affair when then manager Paul Jewell was left livid following a totally inept performance from Stokes own.

So far this season big Phil has taken charge of 11 Premier League games and dished out 32 yellow cards and 2 reds, lets hope that tomorrows game goes by without any controversy and that it is remembered for the football and not the antics of the man in the middle
