Zaki Strike Costs Latics a 500,000 Penalty

Wigan Athletic goal scoring sensation Amr Zaki has cost Dave Whelan million by banging in his 10th Premier League goal of his highly productive season.

When the loan deal was struck with Zakis Egyptian club Zamalek there was a clause in there that stated should Zaki hit 10 league goals then the Latics would have to pay another 500,000 on the loan fee.

It soon became apparent of when he scored 10 not if and it is a slight surprise that it has taken until now, surely if Zaki hadn`t had his calf injury he would have burst through the 10 barrier well before he did.
