Zaki Strike Costs Latics a £500,000 Penalty

Wigan Athletic goal scoring sensation Amr Zaki has cost Dave Whelan £½ million by banging in his 10th Premier League goal of his highly productive season.

When the loan deal was struck with Zakis Egyptian club Zamalek there was a clause in there that stated should Zaki hit 10 league goals then the Latics would have to pay another £500,000 on the loan fee.

It soon became apparent of when he scored 10 not if and it is a slight surprise that it has taken until now, surely if Zaki hadn`t had his calf injury he would have burst through the 10 barrier well before he did.
