Bruce Says Heskey Out of Spurs Game

Bruce Says Heskey Out of Spurs Game

Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce has revealed that star striker Emile Heskey will not be fit in time to play against Spurs in the FA Cup 3rd round tie at White Hart Lane this Friday.

Heskey limped out of Sundays win at the Reebok Stadium on 32 minutes with a hamstring injury after stretching to get a shot on the Bolton goal.

Emerson Boyce has just been sidelined for four weeks with a similar injury and with the Latics having some big matches coming up in the next four weeks they could well do without missing Heskey for that length of time.

Bruce was waiting for scan results before committing to how long he will be out for but told reporters:

'We do not know the extent of the damage to Emile's hamstring and we have no idea yet of how long he is going to be out. But he definitely will not play at Tottenham.'

Lets hope that this injury puts off Liverpool and the rest otherwise we might have seen the last of Heskey at the JJB
