Bruce - 'No Cup Luck`

Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce bemoans the luck of the draw ahead of this Fridays 3rd round FA cup tie at White Hart Lane against Spurs.

Bruce is cursing the fact that he never gets a good draw and it seems it is always one of the big guns he faces in the competition or a Premier League club away as is the case this time round.

For a club like the Latics cup competitions are a realistic prospect of silverware according to Bruce and he sees the FA cup as winnable, though his side are struggling with injuries and suspensions with Amr Zaki, Emile Heskey and Chris Kirkland all sidelined with bumps and bruises and Lee Cattermole suspended the Spurs game will test the strength of his squad, Bruce told reporters:

'Every year it's Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool or Manchester United. Being away to Spurs is not the most ideal draw.'

'For a club like ours, a cup is a realistic chance of winning something.

'Although I will give some of the fringe players a run out this week I will be expecting a performance. If we can get past Spurs then who knows how far we can go.'

Bruce wouldn't be happy if you were playing the Wheeltappers and Shunters Social Club. He has to be the biggest whinger in the whole of the Premiership. How can you possibly moan about who you play at this stage of the FA Cup?
