Wigan Athletic - Erik`s Back

Wigan Athletic - Erik`s Back

Wigan Athletic left back Erik Edman finally made his come back to the first team on Friday night in the FA cup defeat at Spurs having spent the best part of 10 months on the side line following his horrific knee injury away at Blackburn last March.

Speaking on Wigan World TV the Swede in almost perfect English described how it felt to be back and he told how he`d identified the cup match as the one to be back in the first team for, he said:

'Yeah it's fantastic, like I said to you two months ago this was the game I really looked forward to.

'Getting a few minutes at the end was really fantastic for me.'

With Edman back there is now genuine competition for the left back spot with Maynor Figueroa, an ever present in the league for Latics this season, now looking over his shoulder

On evidence from last season Edman was a better player than Figgy IMO
