Wigan Athletic - The Big Guns Are Back

Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce is set to make wholesale changes for tomorrows visit of Spurs to the one that faced the North London club in the FA cup just over a week ago.

Chris Kirkland is expected to be fit from his groin strain and replace the hapless Richard Kingson in goals, even if Kirkie hasn`t recovered in time Mike Pollitt will line-up between the sticks.

Kirkie is back

Mario Melchiot and Maynor Figueroa are to be re-instated in the full back spots with the unlucky Emerson Boyce dropping down to the bench with skipper Super Mario taking his place whilst Kevin Kilbanes time at the club is now running down and he will be replaced by Honduras` finest left back

Figgy back in for the Killer

In midfield Lee Cattermole will return following his one match suspension and this will cause a re-shuffling with Daniel DeRidder dropping to the bench, Antonio Valencia going to his more favoured right side and the Catts lining up along side Wilson Palacios in the middle of the park

Out of the team all together will probably be Olivier Kapo after his inept performance that left the Latics management furious with the lazy Frenchman, Ryan Taylor will once again line up in Lee McCullochs old role of the right footed, left sided wide man

Taylor back in on the left

Up front both Heskey and Zaki have recovered from 'injury` and will start with Henri Camara having to make do with a place on the bench, some pundits reckon this could be Heskeys last game for the club with a 4 million move to Liverpool waiting in the wings, though the much admired Amr Zaki in the words of Steve Bruce `is going nowhere`

Zaki going nowhere, he is staying put

So spurs will face a very different Latics side than the one they knocked out of the cup 10 days ago and with the weather forecast predicting freezing fog the Tottenham players, management and fans could be in for a very cold afternoon at the JJB.

Spurs just might catch a cold tomorrow

I predict a total turn around from the game at White Hart Lane and I can see the Latics running out comfortable winners and Spurs new signing Jermaine DeFoe being another expensive flop

Feeling good about this one...2 or 3 - 0 to the Latics
worbo
pavlyuchenko has 8 goals in last 10 games....defoe will do what he always does....we will score at least 2 goals maybe 3........you've NEVER beaten us before in the top flight, and its not about to start on sunday!!!!!
lillywhites101
There is a first time for everything lillywhites101 and its about time we put this one to bed. Pavlyuchenko did well against a Championship side and our reserve team, lets see how he fairs against a top Prem side, as for DeFoe, he has NO form and you'll be pulling your hair out with him before the end of the season, to be honest I cant see you scoring and although my 3-0 is a bit brash 2-0 is totally feasable
worbo
he has no form???....lol, you just keep telling yourself that! he is back where he belongs, and he will do what he always does...he is one of the best finishers in the league....paired with pav who seems to be scoring for fun recently....we will definately score, whether you can score more than us remains to be seen....roll on 2moro
lillywhites101
worbo as i said, pav has 8 goals in 10 games recently, he has also netted against quality prem opposition this season....if you really belive he is only good for championship teams and a wigan reserve team, then keep on wishing!
lillywhites101
lillywhites101 is dumb spurs sold defoe coz he wernt good enough 'pav' is very poor he scores silly penaltys n well he minght of scored a good goal his performance was still poor. we are on a amazing run wilst spurs are not we are 7th and u are lyk 15th for a reson so go away and talk to other but head spurs fans
lathamwafc
on our little question thing at side as well i predict a few oh lillywhites101 freinds have been voting on that
lathamwafc
blah blah blah.....defoe and pav, are far better goalscorers than what u have up front. defoe is one of the best in the prem, and pav is proven at club level and international.....roll on 2moro so we can see
