What the Bosses Said - Latics Vs Spurs

Following this afternoons Premier League fixture between Wigan Athletic and Tottenham Hotspur at the JJB both bosses, Harry Redknapp and Steve Bruce, spoke to the press, lets see what they had to say:

Latics boss Steve Bruce:

'There is no better time to score than the last minute but if any team was going to get it I felt we were the ones'

'We found it very difficult to break them down with Woodgate, Dawson and Ledley King in there. Halfway through I was thinking it had 0-0 written all over it.

'I've just watched Figueroa to see how he has got in there and to be fair to him he's done his job exactly how we wanted him to do it.

'He has stood in front of the goalkeeper to come off, and he has got the header. Jermaine Jenas doesn't pick him up properly and he sticks it in the net.'

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp:

It was a poor header by the left-back to concede the corner and then we didn't defend the corner'

'It looked a banker draw. I don't remember our keeper having to pull off many world class saves today.'

World class saves? I don`t remember your goalkeeper ever pulling off any world class saves Harry

Dont thnk we will be in threat of going down this season...dont know about Spurs though

I just hope we stop talking about relegation threats and starts talking about not playing European football threats.

What can I say but you deserved it. Well played. Lets face it, we are where we are cause we have been poor all season and to be honest I would have been happy with a point before the game. Loads of money spent on good players and not moulding a team thats our problem. You can have all the money in the world but If you dont spend it wisely you get the Spurs factor. I think Steve Bruce has got it exactly right. Your players are physically strong and you also have a degree of finesse in the team, all these done without breaking the bank. I can see you guys making Europe this season but might find it hard keeping hold of your top players.
