Heskey Says Latics have European Dream

Wigan Athletic striker Emile Heskey was absolutely buzzing following his sides 1-0 win over Spurs at the JJB and the birthday boy celebrating his 31st birthday today is hoping that the Latics can go on and snatch a European spot at the end of the season.

Heskey reckons the Latics made Spurs look very ordinary today and all the effort that the team puts in to training is paying off, Heskey spoke to reporters after the game, he said:

'The lads have been doing brilliantly, we work hard every day in training and it shows on the pitch.

'They are great players out there in the Spurs side, but we made them look really average to be honest with you. Though they are a really good team.

'They might have had a bit more of the play, but the chances came to us really.'

'We're flying high at the minute, but we've got to keep our feet on the floor because we've got some tough games coming up'

'We're keeping our heads up and hopefully we'll keep the run going. We're a club that is trying to stay in the league.

'Europe is probably too big a jump for us, but we're going to try.'

Have to say I was really impressed with your team today - you showed commitment, pace, were tough in the tackle, had good width and were creative - more than can be said for our very expensively assembled and overpaid squad. Maybe Levy will come calling for Brucy as our next manager - who knows what he could achieve with our players ;-)
