Sylvan Ebanks-Blake in Bruces Sights

Wigan Athletic manager Steve Bruce took in Wolverhampton Wanderers home defeat by Preston North End on Saturday reportedly to check on Wolves front man Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, who obliged by scoring in a one on one with the Preston keeper.

The former Plymouth Argyle player is a possible target for Bruce but not in the current transfer window, it is understood that the Latics boss is looking at future signings and he sees Ebanks-Blake has someone who could step in to the departing Heskeys boots in the summer.

The 22 year old started his career off at Old Trafford but didn`t feature and was loaned out to Royal Antwerp where he scored 4 goals in 9 appearances before making the move to Plymouth for £200,000 in 2006

During a two year stint on the Devon coast Ebanks-Blake scored 22 goals in 66 games for Argyle before joining Wolves for £1.5 million last January, the prolific forward has managed to net 28 goals in 46 games for the Molineux club

A lot better prospect than McSheffrey

If Wolves go up, this is a non starter, and if not, it'll take a big punt. Any decision to release him would spark a bidding war. There arent may 28 in 46 strikers about at any level
