Sylvan Ebanks-Blake in Bruces Sights

Wigan Athletic manager Steve Bruce took in Wolverhampton Wanderers home defeat by Preston North End on Saturday reportedly to check on Wolves front man Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, who obliged by scoring in a one on one with the Preston keeper.

The former Plymouth Argyle player is a possible target for Bruce but not in the current transfer window, it is understood that the Latics boss is looking at future signings and he sees Ebanks-Blake has someone who could step in to the departing Heskeys boots in the summer.

The 22 year old started his career off at Old Trafford but didn`t feature and was loaned out to Royal Antwerp where he scored 4 goals in 9 appearances before making the move to Plymouth for 200,000 in 2006

During a two year stint on the Devon coast Ebanks-Blake scored 22 goals in 66 games for Argyle before joining Wolves for 1.5 million last January, the prolific forward has managed to net 28 goals in 46 games for the Molineux club

If Wolves go up, this is a non starter, and if not, it'll take a big punt. Any decision to release him would spark a bidding war. There arent may 28 in 46 strikers about at any level
