Full Time Analysis - City Vs Latics

Vital Wigans match analyser Sprayzen provides some insight into the goings on in the game over at Eastlands between Manchester City and Wigan Athletic….

…a game of missed chances for Wigan and none more than Zaki's sitter of a header late in the game

Wigan in the 2nd half went all out attack, but the story really of there season sees them attack but fail to convert their chances the vast majority of times

De Ridder I thought was great when he came on and really saw Wigan pick the game up another notch, Valencia was also the other attacking avenue on the flanks and caused no end of headaches as the game went on.

Talk of City going for Palacios well it wouldn't surprise me if they target Valencia either.

Speaking of Palacios he got another yellow card today and will miss his next 2 matches, as to who they will be for is the main question.

Further to this he also went off the park late with a hamstring injury as to the extent of the injury time will tell.

An injury at this time could cause the deals on offer pulled off the table or reduced offers given which might work in Wigans favour as might the 2 match suspension.

Stats for the game

City / Wigan
3 Shots On Target 6
7 Shots Off Target 9
12 Fouls Conceded 16
2 Corners 11
1 Yellow Cards 4 (Robinho / Cattermole, Bramble, Palacios, Kirkland)
1 Red Cards 0 (Dunne)

That was a really frustrating game to watch from a Wigans fans perspective

On the other games Stoke fans won't be happy with Chelsea scoring 2 goals in the last 2mins of play to win the game 2-1

Always got Michael Brown to come in for Palacios! I think there were a few other players missing games but we've got backup. A really poor result on the basis of things but I don't think it will affect us really badly at all. Our rivals have really tough fixtures coming up so its going to be a while before the table really takes shape for the lead up to the end of may. Are you telling me Wigan won't get another point all season? I think its a fairly safe bet that Wigan should be OK, all things considered.
