Palacios Signs for Spurs

Wigan Athletic midfield man Wilson Palacios has agreed terms with Spurs and signed on the dotted line joining the North London club for £14 million reports the Sun

The Honduras international has made Latics a cool £13 million profit after arriving in January 2008 for just £1 million from Deportivo Olimpia, a Spurs spokesman said:

"A deal has been agreed with Wilson. He`s now a Spurs player."

£55k a week is an awful lot of money for a player who essentially we don't really need. Keeping goals out isn't our problem, its scoring them, and Palacios' goals tally is about as impressive as Didier Zokora's.....

well leave him with us then

We need someone who will hold the midfield while the likes of Luka and Lennon press forward. That is how he should improve our goals tally. That is what we hoped we had in Zok, and what we haven't had since Carrick left. We can only hope he's as good as his price tag suggests

Is this fella really worth a 14 fold increase in a year?? Whats the word Latics fans?

I'm delighted to have him, and I commend Wigan for not spitting the dummy out like West Ham and Sunderland have done recently, not to mention Boro

Seems a lot of money. But with the money coming into the game these days, 14 million will only buy you robbie savage in about 5 years. If ******** Bellamy is worth this amount, then Palacios easily is. I'm surprised Wigan accepted this bid to be honest, they could of just held out for City to get interested and get £30 million plus for him. I'd certainly be very dissapointed if we accepeted this sort of figure for one of our top players.

lathamwafc - I hear your frustration. How do you think we feel?- in recent years we have lost bigger players than Palacios - Carrick, Berbatov and Robbie Keane etc who think they can make it with so called bigger clubs and looked where thats left us?

Well said ARPANT when will the players becomerealistic and stay with a club and make that club successful rather than jump to an already successful club???

I understand how wiganers feel but the premiership is mercenary as Tottenham fans know we were part of the five teams which initiated the league and look how far we fell.!
