Ben Watson comes in at Wigan Athletic


Wigan Athletic have won the race to sign Crystal Palaces highly rated young midfield player Ben Watson for a reported 2 million

Watson who was in the last 6 months of his contract at Selhurst Park had been coveted by a host of clubs with Nottingham Forest and QPR having bids turned down and Middlesbrough, Fulham, Blackburn and West Ham all having bids accepted but it was the pulling power of the Latics that has won the day

The 23 year old today agreed terms and it is hoped that the deal can be completed in time to allow Watson the possibility of making his debut at the JJB in Wednesdays Premier League game against Liverpool.

Watson has made 170 appearances for Palace scoring 18 goals and he goes by the nickname of Prince Harry because of the colour of his hair

shame he didnt come to us, but im jus glad he gone to a good team... him an cattermole will form a decent partnership in the middle of the park maybe it now, or in the future but good luck Ben, a very dissapointed boro fan!
