Mido Gets Number 9

Wigan Athletic have handed new signing Mido the number 9 shirt vacated by Emile Heskey following his move to Aston Villa this week and he looks set to make his debut on Wednesday in the game against Liverpool at the JJB

Mido is really looking forward to the game and he is hoping that he can make a goalscoring debut against the over achieving Liverpool team who have flattered to deceive this season where as the Latics are on the crest of a wave and have been unlucky in defeat in the last two games, Mido told reporters:

'It would be fantastic if I could score on Wednesday, everyone wants to score on their debut but the most important thing is for the team to do well and hopefully get a good result against Liverpool and pick up some more league points.

'I am really looking forward to teaming up with Zaki, who is a top striker and I can tell you if you think he has been good so far, I think he can get even better.'

'This is a great time to be joining the club. They are playing so well and having talked to a few of the boys this morning I can see how strong the self belief is in the dressing room.'

Cant wait for Wednesday....come on!

Started off being a bit of a fans favourite with his apparent determination to motivate everyone around him with his hard work, but then came injury after injury and his fancy-dan tricks trying to make himself look good. Its frustrating because he has the talent to be a brilliant player but just needs to stay fit and get in the box alot more instead of dropping deep to the halfway line all of the time.
marron
remember he scored against the scousers in the 1st round when he was at boro , he came off the bench and he striked one amazingly past reina , hope he can do the same next wednesday

Hope not to offend anyone, but he looks like a guy who like to play the fancy stuff. He looks very skilled, but I think he would struggle in the PL.. Can you imagine this scenario.. El Razek is through on goal... In comes Richard Dunne, John Terry, Rio Fredinand etc with a sliding tackle.. He would get torn apart.. Some of the defenders in the PL is not to play around with.. But I would love him to prove me wrong =)

nummeratten..Thanks for your point of view! But he is really a good player! And if he came to the EPL you will see that! Wigan was linked with that player before, when Bruce came to cairo to see Zaki, he wanted to make Shikabala to sign too!! By the way, there are ppl from Blackburn Rovers here in Cairo to make Shikabala to sign for Them!....I hope Wigan to get this guy! His is like valencia but more skillful !.....MIDO,ZAKI,SHIKABALA!...what a team!
