Bruces Anger at Manchester City Over Palacios

Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce has been left livid at the way Manchester City have behaved over Wilson Palacios and his ultimate transfer to Spurs last week for £14 million.

The Latics boss claims that Palacios was ready to snub a move to London and sign a contract extension with Wigan, that is until City came in for talks with the player but without any intention of signing him.

Bruce says that City 'used` both Palacios and the Latics in their attempt to sign West Ham striker Craig Bellamy by reaching a 'gentlemans` agreement with Spurs who were also interested in signing Bellamy, if you like sa bit of a sting, a livid Bruce told reporters:

"They had no intention of signing Palacios. They used the boy as a weapon and used our club as a vehicle just to get Bellamy
'
'I have to say Manchester City's behaviour was absolutely disgusting.

'If they had not come in a week last Friday and unsettled the boy, he would have signed a contract for us.

'The player would have signed. He was wobbling and wasn't sure about going to London.

'We had offered him a contract and he was on the verge of signing that contract. We even went as far as to have the papers drawn up.

'Then Manchester City ring him and it's a different ball game.

'It's a total joke. They took the piss out of us to be honest.

'They've shown a lack of respect for this football club and the player himself.'

WTF is Bruce on about? Sorry mate, but because we showed interest in a very good player, he turned his back on you? Sorry, this has got everyone laughing, and it ain't with you. Will you try and blame us when Valencia does one to Real Madrid? No offence, but Wigan are hardly one of the biggest draws for foreign players, and I bet Palacios couldn't wait to get his arse down to London. (and I suspect he'd have chosen spuds ahead of us before you have a go!)

WHAM came out and said they would never sell a players to Spuds, we pay over the odds for Bellamy, you get a good deal from Spuds, who is the team that got shafted, It wasn't Wigan. I think that Bruce is trying to take away the fact that Whelan is selling off your crown jewels everytime that Bruce finds one and lets blame City for this join in have a go.
