Taylor to Newcastle in N`Zogbia Swap

Wigan Athletic utility man Ryan Taylor is close to agreeing a move to Newcastle United with left sided player Charles N`Zogbia set to move to the JJB in a swap deal.

Taylor is out of contract in the summer and although there have been discussions with the Latics it is reported that they were poles apart in terms of what was being offered and what was wanted

Newcastle boss Joe Kinnear wants some defensive cover and sees Taylor as the ideal man to provide it, add to that the fact Taylor takes at least 3 points off Newcastle on his own every season it makes sense for the Geordies to snap him up

N`Zogbia appears desperate to leave Newcastle and the Latics are desperate for a left sided player and Steve Bruce was sniffing around in the summer so this looks like a deal just waiting to happen

Sad to see him go but if we get N'Zogbia then that would soften the blow

Supremely talented (according to Robson) but sounds like he might have a bit of an attitude problem. Having said that Newcastle United is a strange place.

would be very happy with that deal

so would i... and he can still give us 3 points against newcastle if we play them viz own goals :)

Taylor's a great squad player due to his versatility but if a squad player wants too much money, well you get another squad player. Zog football-wise would be immense in giving us an attack up the left but I'd give him 2 weeks before he starts complaining again and talking about ambition.
