Man Utd. poised for Valencia bid

Despite Sir Alec's quoted statement that he does not wish to add to his squad in this transfer window, media reports suggest that he may be preparing a bid which will test Wigan's resolve to keep hold of their key player.

It was expected that Valencia would be subject of a bidding war in the summer, between United, Chelsea and Real Madrid but with Madrid beleived to be preparing another bid following the rejection of an eleven million pound offer for Luis, Man United are apparently trying to snatch the star winger from under Madrid's nose.

The quoted figure of eighteen million would go a long way to buying replacements, however with only two days to the end of the transfer window and with no competent replacements already within the club, selling Valencia would be a big gamble for Wigan's European ambitions.

no no and no we have no time to get a replacement and we would be stupid to do this now if we must sell him, wait till the summer where we can negotiate a higher fee than 18mil
d_manga_fanatic
Not a chance, keep him till summer
worbo
I suspect we will sell him but let United loan him back to us until the summer.

Wonder if we can agree to a fee for Valencia now with Utd for the Summer OR if we agree now we could possibly loan Valencia until the end of the season - something different but if we are going to lose him lets hope we can at least keep him for the rest of the season which is vital

I personally would go for a cash plus player deal. United must have some decent wingers (ronaldo aside) who could be given on loan. I can't see Valencia going personally. He will in the summer but not now. Bruce cannot afford to. If I were Bruce, I'd say to Ferguson, OK, but I'd get another player in from United's wingers.
