'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Focus on today's refereee...Rob Styles

Styles is 44 years old and has been on the Premier League referee's register since 2000.

Styles has history with Wigan, controversially disallowing a goal from De Zeeuw in the play off final against Gillingham ,when replays cleary showed the ball had crossed the line.

Styles has been at the centre of other controversial incidents, the most memorable awarding a highly dubious penalty to Chelsea at Anfield last season and another one to Man Utd at home to Bolton this season.

Mr Styles has reffed us twice this season, the draw at home to Sunderland and the victory agasint Everton also at home, the only notable controversy the sending off of Cattermole.
