Steve Bruce - We Are Stronger

Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce says that the club are in the Premier League for the long haul and that they are the real deal.

So called pundits from around the country have a tradition of knocking the Latics, tipping the club for relegation and some have been down right disrespectful, but this doesn`t phase Bruce, he told reporters:

'We get used to that and, to be fair, we use it to make us a little stronger'

With the team playing good football and sitting proudly in 7th spot Bruce is right to say that they have grown stronger, the Latics are at last competing with everyone in the league not just those in and around the bottom

Liverpool and Aston Villa in the past week have come unstuck thinking that the Latics would be there for the taking and in the case of Liverpool that was a game that Wigan could and should have won, Bruce continued:

'We have enjoyed taking points off the big boys.

"Anyone who we have played against has had a hell of a run for their money.

'We went to Old Trafford earlier last month and for (Manchester United manager) Sir Alex Ferguson to say we are the best team to have gone there is a hell of a compliment for our lads."
