Wigan Athletic striker Amr Zaki answered some rumblings from his fans back home in Egypt who claim that the prolific marksman is failing at the Latics
Zaki started the season in blistering form but recently the goals have dried up, though he has maintained his all action displays, but in fairness Zaki has been carrying an injury since the middle of October
The 25 year old Egypt international is the current leading goal scorer at the Latics and he is still riding high in the Premier League goal charts, a feat not usual associated with a Wigan Athletic player so far in to a season.
Zaki responded to suggestions that he was failing by pointing out that he is only one goal behind Ronaldo, he told reporters:
'I haven`t scored in the Premier League recently, but that doesn't necessarily mean I failed'
'My supporters need to be more patient. How come I failed whereas I trail high-profile stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Robinho only by one goal? [In the Premier League top goal scorers table.] This is my first season in England and I reckon that I have done well.'
'Some players might stay on bench for six months or so till they make their Premier League debut. But I have taken part in 99% of Wigan's games this term, and I have become their top scorer.'
Lets hope that Zaki is fit for the trip to Middlesbrough on the 24th February because with his compatriot Mido missing we will need a fired up performance from Vital Latics favourite Egyptian
