Mido Wants Wigan Stay

Wigan Athletic and Egypt striker Mido, who is currently on loan from this weekends opponents Middlesbrough, says that he is keen to make his stay at the Latics a permanent one.

Mido has travelled quite a lot in search of a 'home` in the footballing world he started off with Egyptian club Zamalek then went to Belgium side Gent, Dutch club Ajax, then off to Spain with Celta Vigo, France to Marseille, Italy and Roma then England with both Spurs and the Boro and finally here at Wigan, and he is still only 25.

So to hear Mido saying he is starting to settle somewhere must be music to the ears of his agent and it is also music to the ears of Latics and their boss Steve Bruce who has been chasing the enigmatic star for sometime now.

Mido will miss the Boro game due to being ineligible under the terms of his loan agreement but he is also injured and wouldn`t have featured this weekend anyway, he has a reoccurrence of a groin injury that has plagued him for some while and hopefully he will be fit for the following weeks game at Chelsea

Mido spoke to the press and couldn`t hide his glee at getting the move to the Latics sorted out, its been in the offing since last July at least and he is very pleased with the move, he told reporters:

'I believe I've reached the part of my career where I need to play for a manager who has a lot of confidence in me and wants to get the best out of me.

'I think Steve Bruce has been trying to sign me for some years now, he knows what I can do and that is important to me.

'There is a great spirit within the Wigan dressing room and a really fantastic self-belief.'

If he stays injury free he will be a tremendous signing but he is injury prone

How much do you think he is worth? I remember Southgate saying in November that he would not sell Mido for anything less than £6million. Is that figure right? I suppose it depends on how well he does for you. I hope he does play well for you guys because then you'll have to give us more money.
