Wigan Lad Set to Take Over at Pompey?

Wigan lad Paul Hart is in line to be appointed the new boss at Premier League side Portsmouth following the dismissal of Tony Adams from the hot seat down on the South Coast.

Hart was born in Golborne and started his footballing career at Stockport County, his playing career has included stints at Blackpool, Leeds United, Nottingham Forrest, Sheffield Wednesday, Birmingham City and Notts County.

His managerial career hasn`t exactly seen him blaze a trail of glory though he has had some limited success, namely Portsmouths victory over Manchester City last weekend. The clubs that Hart have managed are Chesterfield, Nottingham Forrest, Barnsley, Rushden and Diamonds and for the past couple of weeks he`s caretakered Pompey.

Hart is being assisted by former Manchester United assistant and Blackburn Rovers boss Brian Kidd and they are in line to take on the roles full time, good luck to them if they do.

Before anyone says owt Golborne IS in Wigan

Nice article Warbo , however Paul is doing well to turn the team around and get a good result against a poor citeh team. But he has done fantastic down here as top dog with youth development and we do not want to loose him from that position!!!! We need a permanent Manager , as you said "his managerial career so far hasnt exactly seen him blaze a trail of glory" , and a good coach doesn't necessarily make a good manager as we have found with Tony Adams. PUP

Agree there we had the same trouble with Chris Hutchings, Harry Redknapp will be a hard act to follow for any manager, you need someone experienced and highly regarded
