DeRidder Doubtful for The Latics

Wigan Athletic right sided midfield man Daniel DeRidder was expected to start tomorrows game at the Riverside Stadium with Antonio Valencia still missing with a hamstring pull, unfortunately DeRidder has picked up a thigh strain and he is rated as very doubtful

The Holland international pulled up in training yesterday and his injury is giving Bruce concern over who will play wide right in the Latics midfield as they look for 3 points up on Teeside

This series of injuries could leave the door open for either Olivier Kapo or Jason Koumas to make a rare start in the side or if Bruce changes his formation to 4-5-1 we could see both Kapo and Koumas in there from the beginning

Bruce could opt to play Kapo wide right and Koumas just off Zaki in the front line leaving Colombia striker Hugo Rodallega on the bench as he is still short of fitness

Whatever the formation or the team selection the Latics will surely be looking for 3 points against a Boro side low on confidence.

From having no left sided midfielders to no right sided ones, life as a football manager must be frustrating

DeRidder a doubt, lets hope he doesn't recover in time and Kapo gets a similar injury.
