Bruce Looks to Boro Victory in Euro Chase

Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce has a poor record against Middlesbrough but realises if the Latics are to chase their European dream then these are the games they need to win.

Boro have struggled for most of this season and find themselves next to bottom of the league though there is no doubting that they do have talent in their side it appears that manager Gareth Southgate cant get the best out his players

Even so as the 0-1 loss to Boro at the JJB earlier this season proves they are not to be taken lightly despite the lowly position that they are in and Bruce is ever cautious, he told reporters:

'It's a huge one and I have a bad record on Teesside,'

'I don't think I've taken a point there as a manager and never played well.

'I hope this is our year. If we can go and beat Middlesbrough it will be terrific.'

When asked about the chances of European qualification Bruce said that it would be some achievement for the Latics to gain that European spot and with the season heading into the final 3rd it is still on, Bruce continued:

'It would be a fantastic achievement for the club, we have 13 games to go - who knows?

'Without doubt it would be my (my biggest achievement) by a long way to take this club that far.'

It would be fantastic Brucie if we made it no doubt about that
