Latics Linked to Yasser Al-Qahtani Again

Wigan Athletic are once again being linked with a move for Saudi Arabia international Yasser Al-Qahtani according to reports coming out of the Gulf region.

Al-Qahtani is a 26 year old striker and he is currently ranked the worlds 6th best forward by International Federation of Football History & Statistics, he has scored 44 goals in 54 international games for Saudi Arabia.

The quick fire striker currently plays for Saudi club Al-Hilal and he has a record of 44 goals in 52 games for the current Saudi champions who are based in the country`s capital Riyadh.

Al-Qahtani has had trials with Manchester City and then boss Sven Goran Eriksson was very close to signing him but unfortunately for all concerned Eriksson left City and the move didn`t come off.

Latics were linked earlier this season and Al-Qahtani was dubbed the Asian Amr Zaki. but again despite quotes in the press from Al-Qahtani himself confirming the interest from Wigan nothing materialised.

Now it appears that there is again interest and reports around the Gulf States are indicating that there could be a move once the new transfer window opens, we shall wait and see.

Latics Podcast3 is now available and it features an interview with AmrZaky.com editor and personal friend of Zaki himself, Emad Mahmoud, interesting to hear what Emads thoughts are on the chances of Zaki staying at Wigan Athletic beyond the end of this season.

Latics really need the services of Hossam Ghaly ..I know that Bruce is a long time admirer of Ghaly and Ghaly could really bring some magic to the Latics midfield ..by the way he is playing in Saudi Arabia at the moment and in an extremley good form at present
