Bruce - 'I was a bit of a prat'

Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce allowed emotions to get the better of him yesterday at the Riverside stadium, following a challenge by Lee Cattermole on Boro player Didier Digard Middlesbrough coach Steve Agnew reacted angrily towards Latics boss Bruce

Bruce had an 'exchange` of words with Agnew on the touchline and both had to be kept a part by members of the coaching staff has tempers threatened to boil over.

The challenge on Digard was heavy but fair though sometimes emotions do get running high even so Bruce says he acted like a prat, the Latics boss told reporters:

'On reflection I was a bit of a prat, but that happens when you get involved in the game.

"I'll be sharing a beer with Steve in a minute. It was a perfectly fair challenge from a tough tackling player. Nobody likes to see a player carried off but it happens in football.'
