Bruce Expects Zaki to Blossom with the Tulips

Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce is hoping that star striker Amr Zaki will but the Winter blues behind him and find his goal scoring touch again as Spring approaches

Zaki is Latics leading goal scorer with 10 league goals but worryingly he hasn`t scored since the 1-0 away victory at Bolton back on December 28th and that was a penalty.

Steve Bruce is hoping that it is just a case of Zaki having the Winter blues and with Spring just around the corner the Egypt international will once again find his scoring touch, Bruce told reporters:

'When Zaki scored two goals at Liverpool in October, you'd have paid £20 million for him'

'Unfortunately with the winter and the different climate, different training regimes, he's finding it tough at the minute.'

'Hopefully when the spring comes he'll come out of his shell again.'

It's a cunning ploy so we (Chelsea) can sign him for a knocked down fee in the summer! Fooball is all about fine lines and confidence, isn't it? Had he scored when he had that terrible miss a few weeks ago (can't remember who against?), I'm sure he'd be flying again by now. Quality player though, he'll come back I'm sure. Any chance you'll sign him in the summer do you think? Joking aside, I really wouldn't mind seeing him at The Bridge!

climate? that doesnt make sense bruce, he's not a camel!....plus if he has problem with training he wouldnt have excelled for the 1st few months...i think he's:- 1- lacking midfield supply, 2- feeling unsettled coz of his loan contract, 3- unlucky, 4- city's miss made it worse, 5- been injured for a couple of games, 6- perhaps not equally hungry to prove himself like in last summer/fall. if he didnt score against boro, will he score against the blues??..hope so!

Zaki is a class player years yet he needs a serious confidence lift ..im sure a good goal will straighten up things for him yet no question about his quality coz he is Mr. Quality!!

in fact i can't say that anyone of you is wrong but i think the main reason is that he's missing support from his team mates and he's desparte to get a clear chance and we all are blaming him for missing only one good chance againts man city the players have to feed him with better chances just give him the ball and he will score!
