'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Michael Brown Enjoying His Run

Wigan Athletic midfield man Michael Brown is very pleased with his current run in the team and he is looking ahead to the next few games to see if the Latics can cement their place in 7th spot, he told reporters:

"We`re doing okay at the moment and another draw at Chelsea on Saturday would be fantastic.

'Offer us 0-0 now and I think most of us would take it. I'm not being negative saying that - a point there would be an excellent result and take us closer to where we want to be.

'We've been up in seventh place for quite a while now and with the points buffer we built up a couple of months ago, that was always going to be the case.

'It's a fantastic achievement for this club to be where we are in the table, and it would be great if we could finish the season in the top area. I don't see why we can't manage that.

'After Chelsea we've got West Ham, Sunderland and Hull coming up, all teams who are quite close to us.

'We've got 35 points at the moment, this time last year we had 23, so we're doing much better. You don't feel as much pressure playing the games.

'There's still work to be done, we've got another few points to get before we hit 40 points, which was our target at the beginning of the season.'

Brownie says that there is a good work ethic at the club and that he is enjoying his time at the Latics, coupled with a fantastic season it is easy to see why the popular Hartlepool born player is running around like a spring lamb, he continued

'I'm still going at 32. I keep myself fit, that is the least you can do.

'We're all working hard together here. A good work ethic has to come first at this club, the rest takes care of itself.

'At the moment we're proving a hard team to beat, we're fighting for each other and have a terrific attitude.'
