Wigan STUNNED Chelsea when they equalised in the final few minutes of the game last season, which effectively ended their title bid. It was an unexpected but poignant point for the Latics, so rest assured that Chelsea will be looking for revenge but Wigan will be looking to build on what they achieved at Stamford Bridge last season.
Chelsea have got themselves a new man in charge - Guus Hiddink, who pulled off a narrow victory against Aston Villa last time round which was a mild surprise but not really much of one considering the desperate need for points to keep in touch with Man Utd for a glimmer of hope to win the title but for me, the quadruple is on the cards for Man Utd.
Wigan are plagued by injuries today, which means Steve Bruce will have his work cut out trying to formate a team which could compete and also stifle the threat which the blues could possess. That's not to say the Latics are without a threat of their own.
The top four this season, for me, have been largely uninspiring but I see this as a fiercely contested match, despite the injuries to key players because Chelsea are without some players, as well.
CHELSEA: PLAYER TO WATCH
========================
Didier Drogba: He will be very dangerous so the Latics defence needs to be A Star!
WIGAN: PLAYER TO WATCH
======================
Hugo Rodallega: He's desperate to open his account and I think he might do it.
ROB'S PREDICTION
================
Chelsea 3 Wigan 1 - Chelsea will be too strong for the Latics but I still expect the lads to put in a decent performance.
ROB'S FINAL THOUGHTS
====================
Not much is going to be changing today in the table stakes. There are very key games though for Hull, Middlesbrough, West Brom and Blackburn. Hull and Blackburn battle it out at the KC, Boro take on Liverpool and West Brom face a difficult task at Goodison. Not much changing today, I think. Wigan, for me, need another win for safety and they have their double to settle, yet, plus I can see Wigan notching points aside to confirm their safety.
