For a team who has struggled to put the ball back into the net and playing with a reduced team today with Valencia, Mido, Koumas, Watson, De Ridder out we held our own early
We really needed to have one of the 3 golden chances drop into the back of the net but those 3 misses in a short period of time added to boos from the crowd seemed to have kicked Chelsea into gear, once they clicked Wigan had no option but to just defend corners for the next 20mins
Both teams have had great chances missed and seen some great saves from the keepers and the CB (Bramble and Terry).
Despite Chelsea poor start Terry was there exception and well he was the one who put on a piece of magic to get Chelsea on the board. How he and Cole more as much forward as they do without it creating massive problems for Chelsea is a wonder
Anyway Kapo has looked the best he has ever looked in a Wigan kit, Scharner looked alright in a more forward role as well. Zaki looks refreshed and working hard.
Whilst Wigan are down a goal there have been enough positives so far from the 1st half to take away and work on during the 2nd half and think maybe Wigan could get something from this game
In other games Boro lead 1-0 against Liverpool thanks to a Alonso OG. Arsenal and Fulham are 0-0 at halftime. Everton defeated West Brom 2-0 in the match that ended an hour ago
