'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Hiddink - 'Wigan Are A Very, Very Decent Side'

Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink admitted that his side were fortunate to get the win today against a dogged performance from Wigan Athletic who he says are a very, very decent side.

The Latics came out of the blocks at the start of the game with all guns blazing and for 20 minutes had all the best chances and with a little better finishing could have been two nil in front with Scharner having a one on one with Cech and Cole clearing a Bramble effort off the line

Hiddink was full of praise for the Latics and Steve Bruce can feel proud of his team who gave another solid display in what is turning out to be a fantastic season, but back to Hiddink and lets allow him to heap some well deserved praise on the Latics, Hiddink told Sky Sports:

'We are very happy with the wins although it was a difficult win today against a very, very decent Wigan'

'They played very well, they gave us a hard time.'

True that Guus... You were seriously unlucky today and your team was weaker than usual with Valencia and Mido out. Best of luck for the rest of the season, not sure you'll need it.

No surprise at how highly Hiddinck rates Wigan. They have turned into a very capable side as all man City fans can attest. We count ourselves lucky to beat you Pie Eaters!! The results over the last few years prove that. But as an oldie I am amazed cos I still remember your club when you first entered the League... Wow!
