Steve Bruce -'The Next Three Games Are Vital'

Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce has spoken about the importance of the next three fixtures in the defining of Latics season having reached 7th in the league, Bruce says it is important to keep focused and get back to winning ways

The first of those three games sees West Ham United visit the JJB on Wednesday, the Hammers actually moved above the Latics and took 7th spot themselves on Sunday with a 1-0 victory over Manchester City, Bruce says that this is a must win game

Following West Ham there is a trip to Sunderland and a home game against Hull City before the month is out and Bruce reckons all three are winnable, 9 points would certainly set the Latics up for an exciting finish to the season, Bruce told the Wigan Evening Post:

'We've got three games coming up which I think will define our season'

'In the last couple of months we've had a horrific runs of matches, playing Manchester United, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Chelsea.

'We've come out the other end still okay. Let's hope we can get ourselves three points against West Ham.

'If we can keep playing the way we have been doing, we will be all right.

'Looking back at recent games, we could have actually got a lot more than we did, we've been unfortunate at times.

'You don't get to seventh place in the Premier League without having something about you.'

I fancy us to get the win on Wednesday, that would be a good start to the month
