Latics Club Shop Now On-Line

Wigan Athletic have launched a new on-line shop which will sell all types of Latics merchandise from replica shirts to dangly things to hang off your mobile phone.

The on-line shop though a permanent feature is just a forerunner to what is promised as a 'state-of-the-art` club shop at the JJB stadium that will sell an extensive range of Latics stuff, the stadium shop is due to open next month (April) and will be situated in the West Stand.

About time, the Latics have missed some fantastic marketing opportunities due to the fact that there has been no club shop, the promotion to the Premier League and the Carling Cup Final are two occasions that spring to mind, still as they say better late than never.

Latics Commercial Manager Paul Hunt told the press:

'These are really exciting developments for us.

"It has been a long-standing ambition of the club to have a state-of-the-art retail facility at the stadium, where supporters can choose from an extensive range of bespoke Wigan Athletic merchandise and we are delighted to be able to offer a revitalised online and mail order facility.

"Football has become a global business, with many of our supporters living away from the area or abroad, and this means we can extend our retail facilities to all of our supporters, wherever they live.

'Focus now turns to plans for the April launch and how we populate the store on match-days and non-match-days alike.

"I hope in the meantime that supporters will be satisfied with the new online opportunities.'
