Wigan Athletic - Bramble Pleased With Form

Wigan Athletic defender Titus Bramble says that now he is getting a run in the side he is beginning to show people what he can do and that he is in good form

Bramble must be a serious contender for this years Player of the Season with some rock solid performances throughout this campaign and the focus recently has been more on the big guys ability as a defender rather than his mistakes proving that he has come on leaps and bounds since signing for the Latics 2 years ago.

The former Newcastle player is quick to point out that he has benefited from the coaching and advice that he has received from Latics boss Steve Bruce who himself was a centre half with Manchester United during his playing days, Bramble told reporters:

'I've been very pleased with my form. When I'm given a long run in the side, I've always said that I would show people my ability.

'I think I'm showing some good form at the moment and hopefully that can continue.

'Steve Bruce has helped me a lot. He played for one of the biggest clubs in the world as a defender and I can only learn from him.

'When he first arrived last season, he took me to one side and told me a few things about what I needed to be doing.

'I've got my head down, worked hard, and it's great to be playing every week.

'This season I've really concentrated on my defending - that's what I'm paid to do first and foremost.

'Maybe in the past I was trying to do too much rather than just defend.'

Nice one Titus
