Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce says that new signing Cho Won-hee has the character to be a big hit in the Premier League.
Bruce believes that players coming to England from overseas need more than just talent to be successful, they also need a strong personality to cope with the changes to their culture and Bruce believes that Cho has the personality to do just that, he says that the South Korea international is hard working and the other players have been impressed with his attitude in training already, Bruce told reporters:
'When you sign a player from overseas it's always about how they adapt to playing in England, but with his personality he will give himself every chance'
'Talent alone is never enough, but through hard work and effort I am sure he will be okay.
'He is industrious, hard working, and he possesses a never-say-die attitude. He is tough, wants to win, you can see that with the way he trains.
'In fact, he has illuminated training. When he first joined us all the other players went 'Wow! Who is this guy?'
'But it's about the demands of the Premier League, and we hope and we think he will cope with it.'
Whether or not Cho will make his debut for the Latics this week at Sunderland or even next week against Hull, Bruce is unsure, Cho hasn`t played since Christmas and the Latics boss wants to make sure he is 100% before throwing him in, Bruce continued:
'It's a big ask to throw him in after three months out.
'I want to give him every opportunity to be physically right, and it might be this weekend, the weekend after, or the one after that.
'We will see because I don't want to rush him.'
Nice one
