Sunderland 1-2 Wigan Athletic H/T Report


Wigan Athletic go into the break at the Stadium of Light 2-1 in front following strikes from Ben Watson and Charles N`Zogbia, Grant Leadbetter replying for Sunderland.

Latics took the lead on 12 minutes when Ben Watson latched onto a loose ball on the edge of the box and steered a strike into Martin Fulop`s right hand corner.

Sunderland equalised on 40 minutes when a punt up field was knocked into the path of Sunderland midfield man who went passed Latics defender Maynor Figueroa and slotted past Kirkland.

Charles N`Zogbia though had the last say of the first half when he ran over half the length of the pitch leaving Sunderland players trailing in his wake and knocked the ball past a hapless Fulop to put the Latics 2-1 up on 45 minutes
