What the bosses said - Sunderland Vs Latics

Following yesterdays game at the Stadium of Light between Sunderland and Wigan Athletic both bosses, Steve Bruce and Ricky Sbragia spoke to the press about the game, lets see what they had to say:

Latics boss Steve Bruce:

'We are delighted because you can't go, a club like ours - or any club, for that matter - six or seven weeks without getting a victory.

'Even though the old spiel comes out that we have played some big teams over the last few weeks and been a bit unfortunate, you need to win.

'A club like ours always needs 10 wins and we have got there.'

Sunderland boss Ricky Sbragia:

'I'm not sure about damaging, but it was a disappointing performance and we didn't take the game to Wigan'

'I thought the first half we were OK; we got back to the 1-1 and then gave a sloppy goal away for the second just before half time

'The second half we were poor, I thought the tempo and the decision making was poor. In general I thought maybe Wigan deserved to win the game.'

'We've never thought that we weren't in a relegation battle, I think it was always going to be tight and I've always felt that there's a possibility that it will go to the last day'

'At present we've got the points on the board, we know what we've got to achieve and we've got to try and get up and climb up the table

'I'm obviously confident, and we've got enough to stay up, but we've got to play better than we did today.'
