Reserves Put Up Good Show Despite Facing Sack

Wigan Athletic reserves faced Liverpool last night and the team contained four young lads who wont be at the club come next season

First year pro`s Craig Mahon, Matty Hampson, Lewis Field and Andrew Pearson all played but unfortunately are all set to be released at the end of this season, boss Steve Bruce having already spoken to the lads concerned, telling them that it was due to the clubs resources.

All four put in excellent performances despite the uncertainty about their futures, lets hope that they can get fixed up in time for the new season

Lewis Montrose who is currently on loan at Chesterfield will also be released at the end of the current season

Latics reserve team last night for the Liverpool game was:

Pollitt; Buxton, Field, Pearson, Edman; Mahon, Routledge, Cho, Hampson, Holt, McManaman.

Subs: Nicholls (GK), Meace, Dukes, Breeze, Prince
