Former Wigan Athletic man Kevin Kilbane says he sees no reason why his former club shouldn`t be able to get a top 7 finish this season.
Kilbane spent 2 ½ seasons at the Latics before moving to Hull City where he has settled in very quickly and become a fans favourite at the KC Stadium with the Tigers fans appreciating Killers 100% effort.
Reflecting on his time at the JJB Killer said that at the start of this season the main priority was to reach the fabled 40 points mark and then see what happens, he believes that with the Latics already on 38 and 9 games left its time for the club to show some ambition and get into the European qualification spot, Kilbane told the Wigan Observer:
'The ultimate goal at the beginning of the season was to stay up, get to 40 points as soon as possible, and then see how it goes'
'There is still a little bit of work to go on that score, but I don't see a great deal of problem with Wigan reaching that mark.
'Once you get to 40 points then you start to look onwards and upwards. And if they can go on a good run, I don't see any reason why they can't then push on and try for a top seven finish.'
Nice one Killer
