Wigan Athletic - Cho Won-hee Out For Season

Wigan Athletic defensive midfield player Cho Won-hee has been declared out for the rest of the season following an injury picked up playing for South Korea against Iraq in a friendly last week, Cho then played again four days later against North Korea in a World Cup qualifier and this worsened the injury

Latics head Physio Dave Galley says that Cho has suffered a `Grade 3 tear of two of his calf muscles` with injuries of this nature taking 8 weeks to recover that`s it for the season.

Cho is obviously gutted at this and speaking to the official website, Wigan World, he said:

'This is very frustrating for me because I was so desperate to show the manager and the fans what I can do. But I will now have to work my hardest to get fit.'

Latics boss Steve Bruce says that he feels for the `lad` and he hopes he can get back as soon as possible, Bruce said:

'It's unfortunate for the lad because he was so willing and has shown a terrific attitude. But our team are working on him and we will do everything we can to get him back as soon as we can.'

Cho Won-hee will spend his recovery and convalescent time at the club with the physios working on him in a bid to get him ready for pre-season.
