Jewell To Face FA Charge

Jewell To Face FA Charge

Wigan Athletic manager, Paul Jewell, is likely to face a FA charge following his comments about referee Phil Dowd after the match against Blackburn Rovers.

I would challenge the FA to find two independent people from within the game who can say that the first Wigan goal was rightly ruled out and that the second Blackburn goal was valid. If they can then I will pay the fine myself, if they can't then the case against Jewell should be dropped and Phil Dowd should be back refereeing Sunday League games.

It was a strong claim, and even if he was right, then we all know the FA would just cover it up.
