Kevin Kuranyi Could Fill Zaki`s Boots

With it looking increasingly likely that Wigan Athletic and Egypt striker Amr Zaki will be plying his trade else where other than the JJB next season, Latics search for a replacement striker is fully underway with a certain Germany international, Kevin Kuranyi, touted as a possible replacement.

The FC Shalke striker has recently been linked with both Blackburn Rovers and West Ham, but the Rovers have other issues dominating following their defeat to Stoke yesterday and the Hammers simply cant afford to bring anyone in at the moment with the clubs finances and ownership uncertain.

Kuranyi would love a move to the Premier League and he does have a fantastic scoring record at domestic level with almost a goal a game and the 27 year old Brazilian born Germany international has knocked in 19 goals in 52 games for his adopted country.

If the Kuranyi speculation comes to nothing there is still the chance of Dynamo Kiev`s Guinea international Ismael Bangoura who is open about the interest from the Latics, the former Le Mans striker has 27 goals in just 37 appearances for the Ukrainian champions and he is still young and developing.

Bangoura says on the Latics interest: "I am flattered by all the links to the Premier League, this is the best league in the world you are talking about"

"Wigan are a good team, they are doing well in the league."

Kevin Kuranyi has been told he wont play for Germany again after he did a runner! He was dropped for their WC qualifier with Russia and he sat in the stand until half-time and then disappeared, not even returning to the team hotel. (according to the NOTW) He was told he would not play for his country again

Yeah I remember that from last year. He is a decent striker, at least he won't be on international duty??

Kuranyi is not as good as he used to be his form has gone totally down hill and will be a flop in the EPL for any team he plays for plus Kurani is no where near Zaki in any aspect of the game I think Bruce made a serious mistake letting Henri Kamara go and the latics need someone better than Kurani to replace Zak!!
