Zaki Back in Training

Wigan Athletic striker Amr Zaki has returned to training and Latics manager Steve Bruce says that the Egypt international is looking very sharp and his hamstring problem that kept him sidelined is all cleared up.

There was a well publicised spat between Zaki and Bruce but now it all seems like roses or daffodils as Bruce draws the conclusion that the Egyptian found the English winter hard going, Bruce told reporters: 'I have always said we might see the return of Zaki to his best when the sun shines and the daffodils come out'

'He found it difficult to settle during the winter for one reason or another.'

Bruce says that he will put Zaki back in the squad for the Blackburn game on Sunday if he needs to, he has no problem with his leading goal scorer and he is pleased with how well Zaki is training, Bruce continued: 'If I need to pick Zaki, and have him involved, I will do so.

'He is back training and, I've got to say, training very well. His hamstring is OK and his fitness is good.'
