Bruce issues hands off warning
Boyce, of whom Bruce refers to as his 'steady eddie', is out of contract in twelve months and earlier this season talks ended with both parties said to be 'far apart', in terms of what is a fair contract for his services.
Since then, Boyce has once again proved to be a valued player, mostly at centre back and it is these performances that have stimulated Wigan into re-opening discussions about a contract extension.
With Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly watching developments, Bruce will be keen to clinch the deal to keep Boyce at the club.
