Wilson Palacios' Grief

Former Wigan Athletic player Wilson Palacios, now at Spurs, has received the sad news that police in Honduras believe they have recovered the body of his 16 year old brother Edwin who was kidnapped back in October 2007

It was well documented during his time at the Latics that Wilson was troubled about the fate of his brother and that ransom fees had been paid on a regular basis to a gang of kidnappers who had targeted Edwin

After receiving information from one of the convicted gang members police recovered the body of a young man from an area 250 kilometres north of the Honduran capital and though no official identification or confirmation has yet been made it is believed to be that of Wilsons young brother Edwin.

Vital Wigan sends their condolences to Wilson and his family at this tragic time, we were hoping for a better outcome sadly that`s not been the case.

He is yid147, Wilson was very, very popular here as you know and we followed his famlies plight from the day he signed for us and we discussed his brother many times on the forum, we were aware of certain strides that were being made by the club and we all hoped for a better outcome than this, Zakky is showing his shock at the outcome nothing more.

Can't believe that this has happened, especially to a boy no older than 16, for God's sake! My thoughts are with the Palacios family at this time, but I can't help feeling angered about this.
