Latics Announce New Sponsors

Wigan Athletic owner Dave Whelan has confirmed that 118bet.com will be the new shirt sponsors of the Latics following the approval of a two year deal with the Isle of Man based internet betting site.

118bet.com replace JJB after a long association with the club and it will be strange to see the Latics brandishing a new name emblazoned across their chests.

Whelan said: "We are thrilled to have attracted a new sponsor with such strong global reach.

"This record agreement will enable Wigan Athletic to further build its profile internationally as well as introducing 188BET to the UK market. We look forward to working together to develop the partnership both on and off the pitch.

"Moving forwards, this is a fantastic deal for the club in the short and long term.

"The Barclays Premier League is viewed all over the world and the name of Wigan Athletic is now a global brand - that is why we are so pleased to be setting up this partnership with a truly international name."

Bolton Wanderers are also to be sponsored by 118bet.com
