Fulham Join The Scharner Queue

Fulham Join The Scharner Queue

Fulham have joined a list of clubs linked with Wigan Athletic man Paul Scharner.

Newcastle United along with German clubs Hamburg, Schalke and Bayern Munich who had representatives at the JJB on Wednesday to watch Scharner, have all registered an interest with the Latics recently, Scharner himself has also said that he wants to leave this summer in search of European football

With the Latics Europa challenge wilting quicker than you can say 'we reached 41 points, that`s for sure` is it any wonder that Scharner is looking for out.

The Austria international defender joined the Latics in January 2006 and scored on his debut in the Carling Cup semi-final against Arsenal at the JJB and since this dramatic entrance to Latics life Scharner has certainly lived up to his billing as a madcap eccentric.

As a character Scharner will be sorely missed around the club though his place in the team is adequately covered by Emerson Boyce and Titus Bramble

How much! Doubt whether anyone will pay that much! £3.5m perhaps! Credit crunch and all that!

His contract as a clause to say he can go for £6 mil, but I would suspect the club would take £4 mil
