'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Zaki's departure confirmed

Whilst this is not a major surprise, it will still be a disappointment to both the club and the fans that a season that started so well for the talented Egyptian, has ended with a whimper.

BBC Arabic are being reported on Egyptian news site Filgoal as saying Wigan have said that no new deal will be made to prolong his stay with Wigan.

Zaki, who socred ten goals before the New Year hasn't scored since and has suffered a series of niggling injuries, coupled with some wayward behaviour, which resulted in the unusual act of public criticism from the manager.

Bruce, speaking to Sky Sports, laid the blame on the poor second half of the season on the lack of goals from the talented Egyptian, stating that,' we had lost our cutting edge.'

Zaki, who has been linked with Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Newcastle has stated that he would like to remain within the Premeir League but it would appear not in a Latic's shirt.

Pity because he started off so well
worbo
Interesting to see where he ends up next. He's shown he's got what it takes but the barren second half make him a bit of a risk.

Thats just as true as Zaki going to Real Madrid last winter ..this was based on an arab website famous for writing junk ..I can confirm to you that its absolutly false coz Wigan havent til this moment decided on wether to buy Zak or not according to Zamalek spoksman a while ago ..
mmjnr
Its funny how people look at things ..Torres who was dazzling this season when he played for pool scored 13 goals and is in 4top scorer of the entire season while poor old Zaki who everyone is nagging abt him not scoring since last christmas from open play scored 10 goals in 1st season away from Egypt ..I look at this and say woww!! well done Zak and i rememeber him taking the whole league by strom at one stage not only coz of his goals but for his style and spirit ..goals come and go yet true talent never fade!!
mmjnr
attitude and commitment matter also and Zaki has been sadly lacking in both
baskerville
I totally agree ..thts the other flip 2the coin!!
mmjnr
just one last sentiment on tht ..me bieng Egyptian and a huge fan of Zaki since he was playing for the youth naional team ..Zaki joined unknown wigan to most of us yet we egyptians were full of joy to see Zaki play for this very talented wigan team tht many of us fell in love with wigan whom on the day can shake any big team in England yet sadly lack of ambition next to zaki's saga all worked togather to give wigan this very unexpected end to wht was supposd a great season for the latics fans and i stil believe it is overal yet it couldve been much better ..Wigan you will never walk alone!!
mmjnr
Thanks for that mmjnr, I agree it could have all been so different
worbo
its to all our regrets that the season has imploded mmjnr and the fault lies with all the players not any one individual
